Luise Stauss is a Photography Director and Editorial & Brand Consultant based in New York City’s Woolworth Building.  

After having worked on the launch of T Magazine, Luise became Senior Photo Editor at The New York Times Magazine. She co-founded the Photography Consultancy Stauss&Quint in 2014, before launching her own studio in 2018.  

Being trained in Graphic design and Fashion in London, Luise specializes in visual strategy and image art direction, taking her deep knowledge of photography, design and styling to work with clients in both the publishing and advertising worlds. Her studio creates imagery for design firms like Pentagram, brands like Apple and American Express, and collaborates with a wide range of international magazines and publishing houses.

Luise was Director of Photography at Modern Farmer, Art Director at AR Media, has authored ‘Domains’, a design column for The New York Times Magazine and was a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts where she taught Design and Photography. A graduate of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art in London, Luise holds a degree in Communication Design as well as Photography.
